FRISKY

This e-Newsletter is dedicated to my dear little four-legged baby whom we named Frisky. She came to us when we had just started our PFA organisation. We had no shelter at that time and we used to bring wounded animals in our house to treat them and look after them. Frisky came to us in a similar manner. My sister-in-law, also a dog lover, saw her on the road in front of our house. She was a small black 2 month old pup, wounded and bleeding. We took her in and started treating her. She was such a cheerful little bundle of joy. My son started adoring her so much that we decided to accept her into our family. Since then she had been an inextricable member of our family.

Our life with Frisky has been an amazing journey full of love and happiness. Her unconditional love, her gentle looks and naughty pranks, all made our lives full of fun and enjoyment. It is really remarkable to know how a small animal can really change our lives for the better. She was instrumental in the way we viewed the world for she taught me to love unconditionally. The thought of losing her one day was unbearable...

She fell ill on 21st Oct. She had pneumonia. We treated her but she could not recover. Within a week, on 25th Oct, she died in my husband's arms. She left us at the age of 12. Her death was a shock to all of us. We buried her in our backyard. She is still missed by all of us and will always remain in our hearts and memories

Goodbye my dear, we love and miss you. May your spirit soar and find its place in the Happy Hunting Grounds

Dr.(Mrs) Surat Prasad Gupta

PFA Agra invites its readers to share their stories (in not more than 250-300 words) of close encounters with animals that changed their lives in a positive way. It would be good if you could send pictures also. The pictures should be sent as separate attachments in the email. Please do not embed them in the word document.

  • The repair work in the shelter is continuing. The dispensary area has been completed.
  • The Nagar Nigam had collected a lot of dogs during the commonwealth games. We operated upon them and then left them back in their area after the visitors left.
  • This month we got a few sad cases. 6 bitches were poisoned by unknown people. They had small pups who had yet to open their eyes. We at PFA are trying to save them but they are so tiny that it seems doubtful if they will survive.

How YOU can help us
  • Forwarding our e-Newsletter to people who care for animals
  • Asking people to subscribe to our e-Newsletter either by sending us a mail directly or via our website (http://www.pfa-agra.org/e-newsletter)
  • Collecting a small monthly donation in your locality from people who want to donate
  • Forwarding our e-Newsletter to organisations in your area who donate for the cause of animals
  • Telling people about our organisation
  • Inviting people to look at our website (www.pfa-agra.org)
  • Sending us a list of people who are willing to donate INR 150 - 600 (~2.5-10 euros) per month. Even if we have 400 people willing to donate INR 1800 per year (~30 euros per year) at the rate of INR 150 per month (~2.50 euros per month), majority of our expenditure in the shelter will be met.
