20th April 2010 was an unfortunate day in the life of a black Labrador aged about 7 years. We later named him Bruno. Two gentlemen brought it to our shelter. They wanted the doctor to examine it. As he was operating they were asked to sit out. They tied the dog and said that they would come back after half an hour. They didn't come back... The dog was examined. Nothing abnormal was detected and it was put in quarantine for 14 days. It was then transferred to another ward along with 2 other dogs that were as gentle as Bruno. Slowly he got used to the life of the shelter. He started roaming round the shelter in and around his room. Bruno and rest of his dog friends were habitual in having a nice long run outside the shelter and then coming back. One day Bruno's friends returned but Bruno didn't. A search party was sent to locate him. Fortunately he was found and brought back to the shelter. He was actually trying to trace its master!!

On 8th June he again didn't return. This time he could not be found. On 11th June a dog wrapped up in a sheet was left a little away from the shelter. It was Bruno! We were quite heart broken to see him in this condition. Bruno gave up and his condition was deteriorating It was no more the smart Bruno but a tired hero who had lost the battle to regain its place in his master?s house. On 26th June it died heart broken leaving all of us grieving for this gentle soul.
